Consultation
Engaging Black and Minority Ethnic Communities in St Ann's - Phase 2
Client - Sure Start St Ann's
Area - St Ann's, Nottingham

There has long been a recognition by service providers in St Ann's that the significant black and minority ethnic communities in the area are not sufficiently engaging in the Sure Start Programme and other local services.

For Phase 1 of this piece of work tanc produced a report documenting baseline data for the different ethnic groups in St Ann's.

For this Phase 2; tanc were funded by Sure Start St Ann's to find out possible reasons for the communities lack of engagement in services and make recommendations on how these issues can be addressed.

A modest sample of 50 black and minority ethnic families in St Ann's was interviewed to gauge general feelings. Although the issues are complex tanc was able to formulate conclusions and recommendations which are believed to be reflective of the wider population.

For copies of the Phase 2 report please contact the Sure Start St Anns or tanc.
